Forecast
Genital warts disappear on their own or with treatment and is common to return. Certain strains of the virus (HPV) that cause genital warts, causes virtually all cervical cancer cases worldwide, although only a small percentage of women who become infected develop cancer.
The cervical cancer develops slowly over the decades. If you have genital warts, probably has a better chance of becoming infected with the strain of the virus that causes cancer. That should be controlled by getting regular Pap tests.
Duration
Genital warts disappear on their own or with treatment, or could last for years. It is common for genital warts return after being removed.
